Democrats Funded Trump’s War on Iran

The war on Iran is massively unpopular. On April 7, Trump warned: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” The Democratic Party feigned outrage at this threat and are calling for Trump’s removal…. again. Democrats would like us to believe they’re against Trump and the war in Iran, but the Democratic Party wrote the check.

Last year, Trump proposed a record military budget of $892 billion. Congressional Democrats opposed Trump’s proposal — because they thought that number wasn’t high enough! Democrats like Indiana Congressman Frank Mrvan voted for the final bill. This shouldn’t be surprising. The Democratic Party is bankrolled by the war profiteers, including Mrvan, who has taken nearly $400,000 from AIPAC and is funded by companies like Boeing, General Dynamics, and Lockheed Martin.

115 House Democrats and 27 Senate Democrats voted for this $1 trillion war chest.

Don’t let Democrats whitewash their records. To put an end to the devastation in Iran, Lebanon, and Gaza, working people need to break with the Democratic and Republican parties. This is a war for profits and political control of the Middle East. We need coordinated mass strike action and civil disobedience in cities across the country, and we need a working-class, antiwar party.
